Cannabis Ordinance

On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, the Board of Supervisor adopted the ordinance regulating medical cannabis cultivation.  Click here to read the ordinance.

Cannabis Complaint Hotline

Planning and Building Services has activated a cannabis complaint hotline for people to register complaints regarding cannabis cultivation.  The hotline phone number is 1-844-421-WEED (9333). This number will connect you with one of two code enforcement officers or their voice mails. 

Cultivation Workshops

The Dept. of Agriculture hosted workshops for cannabis cultivators and other interested parties on April 19 and 20.  The workshops included presentations from state agencies and county departments involved in the commercial cultivation of cannabis.  The County Information Services department recorded one of the workshops for us and that recording has now been posted to youtube.  Click this link to see the recording of the workshop

Cannabis Cultivation Applications

We are unable to accept any applications before May 4, 2017, when the ordinance becomes effective. Please call ahead to make an appointment to submit your application. We will review the application for completeness before it is accepted, which will reduce processing time and allow us to issue permits faster.

Third Party Inspector Application Information

Third Party Inspector applications and requirements have been finalized and are now available below.  If you are interested in becoming a third party inspector you must submit a completed application including all supplemental materials and fees to the Department of Agriculture.  Supplemental materials are outlined in the Cover letter below.  You will be contacted for an interview with the Ag. Commissioner after review of your applications materials.

Please note: As referenced in Ordinance 4356 (below referenced "Urgency Ordinance," section 9.31.110 paragraph E Item 18); all scales used for determining value of a product (e.g. price per pound) must be type approved.
